Guidance for Professionals

Guidance on professional standards is important for the registered professionals as well as the public. Registration confers upon the practitioners exclusive rights to manage and treat sick and vulnerable persons and it is proper that these rights are exercised responsibly, compassionately and with uprightness.

Guidance enables registered professionals to be aware of their responsibilities to the public whom they serve and stay committed to the ethical parameters that govern their professional conduct, interpersonal behaviour, duty of care and personal integrity.

Making such guidance explicit enables the public to know what standards they can expect, what assurances of good practice can be taken for granted and what conduct or behaviour is unacceptable.
